Lingerie Bowl to Hit Glendale Arizona

In a sampling of downtown Scottsdale business, both owners and workers seemed excited to see crowds as large as 200,000 people filling up the streets in front of their places of business for the three days leading up to Super Bowl XLII in Glendale, AZ.

The Lingerie Bowl is a football game featuring lingerie clad women playing tackle football. This is a big event and always generates lots of buzz.

A Hollywood-based production company, Horizon Productions Inc., plans to host the block party festivities, featuring celebrity guests, football challenges, a fashion show and live music on 3rd Avenue, East of Scottsdale road.

Porn star Jenna Jameson, who is a part owner of the Scottsdale topless club Babes Cabaret, might be named the Lingerie Bowl party announcer, planners said.

Third Avenue Lofts includes nearly 80 units. Hotels like the Scottsdale Marriott Suites, Hyatt Place and Hilton Garden Inn are also along the Lingerie Bowl party route.

Who Ever Said That War Was Bad?

Welcome to the new and exiting "Bra Wars" No more blood, death and destruction. Just good old fashioned bras and breasts.

Bra wars heat up in Sydney

SYDNEY was seduced into a battle of the bras yesterday, as two of the city's favourite women pushed their sexy lingerie lines.Supermodel Elle Macpherson went head to head with former Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins, the face of Lovable lingerie, last night as they both doled out advice in what to look for when buying bras.

The savvy Macpherson, 43, aimed to educate men about the joys of buying lingerie for their partners at a male-only VIP cocktail party at the Harbourside Quay restaurant last night.

"There is nothing more wonderful than someone taking the time and energy to surprise you (with lingerie), but make sure that you get the sizing right," Macpherson said.

"I think it's interesting for men to explore what they like and what they like to see a woman in. It's also about having a bit of fun with it.

"I believe men are courageous and interested and this is why I am doing this."

While the famous covergirl had the influential crowd in the palm of her hand, some men were upset there was not a single lingerie-clad woman to model the sexy range.

Ad man Siimon Reynolds expressed the disappointment of many, saying it was best to choose lingerie after seeing it on a body.

Other power players in the crowd included Seven Network director Ryan Stokes, entrepreneur Justin Hemmes and James Symond, nephew of Aussie Home Loans' John Symond.

On the other side of the city Hawkins caused a crush of excitement at Parramatta Westfield as more than 3500 shoppers flocked to see her host a fashion parade for lingerie chain Bras N Things.

Hawkins gave her advice on spending up on bras as models paraded the goods.
She said the golden rule was to indulge in lace, even if you didn't have a model figure.
"You can wear sexy underwear no matter what size you are," she said.

Hawkins admitted she still gets overwhelmed by all the attention she attracts and said she was "taken aback" by the excitement her appearance at the shopping centre caused.

Later she posed for photographs and signed autographs for almost two hours.
And while fans were breathless in their praise for the "down to earth" glamour, Hawkins revealed she still gets nervous facing a crowd.

"It's very overwhelming. I've only been doing this a little while," she confessed.
Fans began lining up an hour before Hawkins appeared at 6.45pm for a special promotional session to sell her range of bras and lingerie, Lovable.

Those who got to meet their idol were not disappointed.

"She is really nice. She was trying to take a photo for me and was just laughing because she wasn't sure how to take it," said Sophia Wang, 16, from Toongabbie.

"She is just so down to earth – like a normal person."

Earlier in the day Macpherson dropped in to her temporary "pop-up" store in Oxford St, Paddington.

"Pop-up" stores are specialty outlets that open in an otherwise vacant shop space for a limited amount of time.

Elle Macpherson Intimates Boudoir will open for two weeks.

"If it was a choice between buying something to eat or lingerie, I'd choose lingerie every time!"

Queen of Pop Madonna appeared on David Letterman on Jan. 11 promoting music, fashion, books, and adoption. When Letterman asked about top pop stars of the day without their underpants, she responded, "Oh God...I love underpants...Maybe you could send them to Britney...And so I've come to New York and the first thing I hear about is everyone not wearing their underpants. What's going on?"

Hollywood has its share of crazy fashion trends, from doll-sized Chihuahua's to oversized sunglasses and hipster eighties leg warmers. But the latest trend by some of Hollywood's hottest young female stars to be photographed getting in and out of SUV's in short skirts sans underwear is definitely one of Tinseltown's wildest new crazes. In December, Britney followed in the footsteps of Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton, being continually caught on film bare down there. Crotch shots may be turning some fans off for good, but others continue to scour Internet blogs for triple-X public pics.

Are they doing it on purpose? "Of course they are doing it on purpose," says Toronto-based podcaster Stephen Knifton of Popstream Productions. He say he thinks that girls like Paris Hilton, who have no talent, are going to use whatever they have to stay famous because "there is no such thing as bad publicity."

With constant buzz about underwear and "down there," many celebrities are riding wholesome waves by declaring love for their panties. In an interview for the British gossip magazine "Female First," Jessica Simpson said she did not understand the Hollywood trend of not wearing panties: "I'm the kind of girl who always puts my hand between my legs when I'm getting out of a car and I'm wearing a short skirt. I always wear underwear."

Ultimately, style reflects a positive attitude, and wearing underwear completes the package. Luckily today, modern women are not following the silly paths of attention savvy starlets. Instead, they are opting for European lingerie in beautiful fabrics with fine lace or embroidery. Lingerie sales are showing strong growth and the market is quickly picking up on trendier styles in sophisticated fabrics. Underwear is popular; underwear is feminine; underwear is sexy. From La Perla, Cosabella, and Hanky Panky to low-rise, string, and boy-shorts, get dressed and have fun!
